About Matrix

Matrix specifies a set of pragmatic RESTful HTTP JSON APIs as an open standard,
which handle:

• Creating and managing fully distributed chat rooms with no
  single points of control or failure
• Eventually-consistent cryptographically secure synchronisation of room
  state across a global open network of federated servers and services
• Sending and receiving extensible messages in a room with (optional)
  end-to-end encryption

To download and run the synapse binary, first install a version of ruby. Then,
install synapse with:

Synapse Development

Before setting up a development environment for synapse, make sure you have the

Synapse has a number of external dependencies, that are easiest
to install using pip and a virtualenv:

Identity Servers

They are not where accounts or credentials are stored — these live on home
servers. Identity Servers are just for mapping 3rd party IDs to matrix IDs.

This process is very security-sensitive, as there is obvious risk of spam if it
is too easy to sign up for Matrix accounts or harvest 3PID data. In the longer
term, we hope to create a decentralised system to manage it (matrix-doc #712), but in the meantime,
the role of managing trusted identity in the Matrix ecosystem is farmed out to
a cluster of known trusted ecosystem partners, who run ‘Matrix Identity
Servers’ such as Sydent, whose role
is purely to authenticate and track 3PID logins and publish end-user public
keys.

Motivation

• Round-robin DNS: Slow to converge, and doesn’t work when applications cache DNS lookups (which is frequent)
• Elastic IPs: slow to converge, limited in number, public-facing-only, which makes them less useful for internal services
• ELB: ultimately uses DNS (see above), can’t tune load balancing, have to launch a new one for every service * region, autoscaling doesn’t happen fast enough

• Service discovery is embedded in all of your apps; often, integration is not simple
• The discovery layer itself is subject to failure
• Requires additional servers/instances

Synapse solves these difficulties in a simple and fault-tolerant way.

Common Questions

Are there any special requirements to install Razer Surround?

As Razer Surround is integrated within the Razer Synapse 2.0 application, you will need a Razer Synapse 2.0 account, and both Synapse 2.0 and Razer Surround installed in your system in order to utilize this software. Running the Razer Surround installer automatically downloads and installs Razer Synapse 2.0 if the application does not yet exist in your system.

Do the type of headphones I use matter?

Razer Surround is intended to be used for the calibration of headphones and headsets. Speaker systems are not supported. Refer to your speaker’s own configuration interface for the setup.

Does Razer Surround require Internet connection to function?

No. Once you have installed it initially, you will only need an internet connection only if there are future updates of Razer Surround to download.

Does my game have to support 5.1 or 7.1 for Razer Surround to work?

Razer Surround can only work with sound that the game (or any other files and software with audio tracks) was programmed to produce. To reproduce the compelling audio experience intended by the producers, make sure your game or software is set to produce 5.1 or 7.1 audio.

How do I setup Razer Surround to work with my favorite headphones?

Configuring Razer Surround for your audio setup involves two (2) simple steps:

1. Open Synapse 2.0 and go to Razer Surround tab, then select the «On» option under Razer Surround label.
2. Select your audio interface. This refers to the sound card, hardware, or audio device your headphone is plugged into. If you are using a USB Stereo headset, this would be the name of your USB device.

You can also calibrate your audio setup for an optimal Surround Sound playback.

Calibration in Razer Surround can be done manually through the Settings tab or via the «Calibration Wizard» link in the «Surround» tab.

Will Razer Surround work if there are other sound processing software active in my system?

If more than one (1) sound processing software is active in your system, double processing of audio may affect your listening experience. Hence, disable all other sound processing software aside from Razer Surround.

Will the enhancements and EQ continue to work if Razer Surround is set to “Off”?

When Razer Surround is turned off, the default device is set back to your current output interface. This means that audio processing through Razer Surround is completely disabled and audio enhancements and equalizer settings are disabled along with it.

SSL/TLS support

You can use OpenSSL, CryptLib, StreamSecII or OpenStreamSecII SSL support with Synapse. By default, no SSL support is used.

The support is activated by putting the chosen unit name in the uses section in your project. You also have to put the binary library file in your project path (Windows), or install it into your library search path (Linux, macOS, FreeBSD).

Synapse loads SSL library files in runtime as dynamic libraries.

Missing library

On Linux you need to make sure the required dynamic library is present/installed on your system. In case of cryptlib if the library is not present on the system, an error message appears during linking:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lcl

A similar message will be displayed when using other dynamic libraries.

CharacteristicsEdit

This weapon deals  Corrosive damage.

Advantages:

• Innate Corrosive damage – effective against Ferrite Armor and Fossilized.
• Highest critical chance of all continuous and automatic primaries.
• Second highest critical multiplier of all continuous primaries, behind Basmu (Alternate fire).
• Decent status chance.
•  Heavy Caliber’s accuracy penalty is minimal on this weapon.
• Deals 20% additional damage on headshots.
• High reload speed.
• Large magazine size.
• Consumes 0.5 ammo per tick of damage.

Disadvantages:

• Innate Corrosive damage – less effective against Proto Shields

  Damage cannot be increased by Slash, Impact or Puncture mods.

• Damage ramps up from 30% to 100% over 0.6 seconds when firing. After firing stops for 0.8 seconds, the damage decays back to 30% over 2 seconds.
• Limited range of 27 meters.

Connecting to Synapse from a client

The easiest way to try out your new Synapse installation is by connecting to it
from a web client.

Unless you are running a test instance of Synapse on your local machine, in
general, you will need to enable TLS support before you can successfully
connect from a client: see .

If all goes well you should at least be able to log in, create a room, and
start sending messages.

By default, registration of new users via Matrix clients is disabled. To enable
it, specify in . (It is then
recommended to also set up CAPTCHA — see docs/CAPTCHA_SETUP.md.)

Once is set to , it is possible to register a
user via a Matrix client.

Your new user name will be formed partly from the , and partly
from a localpart you specify when you create the account. Your name will take
the form of:

@localpart:my.domain.name

(pronounced «at localpart on my dot domain dot name»).

As when logging in, you will need to specify a «Custom server». Specify your
desired in the ‘User name’ box.
